Welcome to Little Silverleaf!
17th Oct 2017
Hi everyone and welcome to the brand new Little Silverleaf website! I'm so excited to launch the site and to bring my cards, gifts and stationery to you direct!
For anyone new to Little Silverleaf, here's a little background on the business for my first blog post...
I started Little Silverleaf as a creative outlet and hobby way back in 2008. Using old books and maps, I would work away at my kitchen table making stationery items to sell on Etsy and at craft markets and fairs on the weekends. It was great fun, I met lots of amazing crafters and business owners, and I learned a whole lot! But after a while I grew restless, and finally realised that what I really wanted to do was to design my own stationery lines from scratch.
So in 2012 I relaunched the business, starting with my very first line of handmade greetings cards, all designed and made by me, right here in Scotland. Over time I've busied myself adding other product lines to the range, such as decorative bunting, notebooks, and wedding stationery, but true to my roots I've always used recycled kraft card, and paper from sustainably managed forests wherever possible.
As the business slowly grew, I was asked to join Not On The High Street, and Little Silverleaf cards began popping up in various online blogs and publications (including Wonder Magazine and the Huffington Post!). Later, I began selling wholesale to a few galleries and shops around the UK, and over the years I've participated in exhibitions at the Park Gallery in Falkirk, in Not On The High Street's Colour Saturday initiative in Edinburgh, and more recently I joined the wonderful Glasgow Etsy Team too.
And now I'm thrilled to move things forward yet again, this time by setting up in my own little corner of the internet where I can play around with new products, talk directly to customers from all over the world, and of course, to sell all my items direct!
I'm so pleased you've stopped by and had a look around the site. I plan to add to it and build on more as time goes by - new designs, new products and new directions - so please do keep in touch.
I'm excited for this next chapter in the Little Silverleaf story, and I hope you'll stick around too to find out what happens next!
